Introduction
LiveTrains Pro ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
- Location data. When you grant permission, we access your device's location to find nearby railway stations. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers or any third party.
- Favourites & preferences. Your favourite stations, routes, and pinned trains are stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device.
- Search history. Recent station searches are stored locally on your device to improve your experience. This data is not transmitted externally.
Third-Party Services
The app connects to the following external services to provide train information:
- Rail Data Marketplace. We fetch live departure and arrival information from the National Rail Darwin API. These requests include only the station codes you search for โ no personal data is transmitted.
- Transport for London (TfL). We fetch London transport status information from TfL's public API. No personal data is transmitted in these requests.
Advertising
This app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy and may share data with advertising partners.
If personalised advertising is enabled, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any tracking occurs. If you decline, only non-personalised ads are shown. You can change this preference at any time in iOS Settings.
Your Consent Choices (EEA, UK & Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we present a consent message (powered by Google's User Messaging Platform) before serving personalised ads. You may:
- Consent to personalised advertising;
- Manage options to make granular choices about purposes and partners; or
- Do not consent, in which case you will only see non-personalised ads.
You can review or withdraw your consent at any time from the Privacy options within the app's Settings.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not create user accounts.
- We do not collect personal identification information.
- We do not track your movements or travel patterns.
- We do not independently sell or share personal data, although our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may collect device and usage data as described in the Advertising section above.
- We do not operate our own servers, although our advertising SDK may transmit data to Google's servers as described above.
Data Security
All data stored by the app remains on your device and is protected by iOS's built-in security features. API communications use HTTPS encryption.
Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages and does not require any personal information to function.
Your Rights
Since all your personal data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it. You can:
- Clear all favourites, recent station history, and pinned trains from within the app;
- Revoke location permission in iOS Settings;
- Review or withdraw advertising consent from the app's Settings;
- Delete the app to remove all associated data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
